This is re-introduction of the metaphorical takes on certain significance in Shuvendu's artwork. So there is a certain relationship of his paingints with the present society as well as nostalgia. He ger inspiration from relationship in between day to day life and nature. He mix-up his own perception to make artwork whcih always renonnects the reality from the different aspect of the social realm. His works are witness and represent our existence, he belive it;s narrative signature of social values Naturalistic forms are the key element which prevails in all the paintings. The use of these universal /  eternal subject matters evoke a sense of nostagia and gives an insight into his personal experience of his surroundings. The subject chosen for every paintings consequently tell the story of evolving reflections of society. The monochromatic surface tends to capture the emotional turmoil and tension of man who is constantly in quest of his won identity in this fast changing moderen world.

About :

Shuvendu Sarkar (b. 1967), artist from Kolkata, completed his Bachelor in Visual Arts

from the Government College of Art and Craft, Kolkata in 1990. He has been awarded

National Scholarship from the Ministry of Culture.

Shuvendu explores conceptual themes dealing with varied social issues through his

paintings.The subject chosen for every painting consequently tell the story of evolving

reflections of society. The monochromatic surface tends to capture the emotional turmoil

and tension of man who is constantly in quest of his own identity in this fast changing

modern world.
